Business Development Manager

About the role

Radiant, a startup developing portable nuclear microreactors, is seeking a Business Development Manager to join its commercial team in El Segundo, CA. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will own end‑to‑end pipeline creation and drive B2B conversations with Fortune 500 customers.

Key responsibilities

• Independently source and qualify national leads across multiple commercial verticals, focusing on Fortune 500 companies.
• Originate and lead client conversations from initial contact through discovery, proposal, and term‑sheet stages.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to negotiate commercial documents toward binding agreements.
• Build and maintain a high‑quality pipeline, emphasizing deal relevance over sheer volume.
• Develop tailored proposals and external communications for prospective customers.
• Acquire sufficient product, siting, licensing, and utility knowledge to speak credibly with customers and close deals.
• Act as an ambassador for Radiant’s mission, values, and brand in every interaction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• 3‑5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related commercial role.
• Proven ability to originate B2B deals without warm leads, especially at a national scale.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency (green card).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Ability to independently source and qualify national opportunities.
• Strong negotiation and proposal development capabilities.
• Knowledge of product siting, licensing, and utility energy considerations (preferred).
