Business Analyst – Air Force HR Modernization

About the role

MANTECH seeks a customer‑oriented Business Analyst to support Air Force HR system modernization. This fully remote, full‑time position offers the chance to work on critical personnel processes for the United States Air Force.

Key responsibilities

• Act as subject‑matter expert for Air Force personnel and HR processes, communicating complex concepts to senior executives.
• Lead workshops with Air Force HR stakeholders to elicit, analyze, document, and prioritize business requirements.
• Monitor internal and external challenges, including vendor issues and regulatory changes, and propose preventive improvements.
• Define system scope and objectives through high‑level research and industry‑standard requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, Management or related field.
• 10+ years of business systems analysis or functional experience.
• Deep understanding of Air Force HR lifecycles, hire‑to‑retire, manpower, benefits, and performance management.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a public‑trust clearance.

Required skills

• CompTIA Security+ certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
• Experience with data migration, data integrity, and reporting in DoD or Air Force HR environments.
• Proficiency in creating process flows, use cases, and functional specifications.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum and SDLC methodologies.
