Bus Driver (Part-Time)

About the role

The Experience Senior Living Team is looking for a part-time bus driver to transport residents between the community and social and other destinations according to an assigned schedule. The role also involves helping residents move safely in and out of the vehicle and supporting community activities.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the vehicle from the community to social and other destinations on the assigned schedule.
• Assist residents safely into and out of the vehicle and secure wheelchairs to restraining devices during trips.
• Clean and service the vehicle with fuel, lubricants and accessories, and report and coordinate maintenance repairs.
• Establish and monitor daily and weekly trip inspections and preventative maintenance, keeping maintenance records.
• Deliver groceries and other belongings to residents' apartments.
• Help the Resident Experience Department with activities and programs as needed.
• Submit travel expense charges to the business office daily and keep a safe driving record per company guidelines.
• Handle emergencies and basic first aid, and report unsafe conditions to the Executive Director.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED, or 1 to 3 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination.
• Five or more years of driving experience and knowledge of vehicle preventative maintenance.
• Able to operate a 7 to 16 passenger bus, a limousine or car, tire-changing equipment, a First Aid kit, a wheelchair lift and dollies/hand trucks.
• Experienced with vehicle emergency repairs, tire changes and minor on-road maintenance.
• Knows the streets within an 8-mile radius of the community.
• Must comply with Motor Vehicle Record Policy standards and be willing to use a company-provided or personal vehicle.
• Able to work varied schedules including weekends, evenings and holidays.
