Building Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Building Maintenance Technician to join the GLAD Administration in Los Angeles. Reporting to the Deputy Director, you will ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of our facilities while supporting our mission to serve the deaf and hard‑of‑hearing community.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as painting, drywall repair, cleaning, and basic window cleaning.
• Identify and resolve building issues promptly, maintaining a preventive maintenance schedule for the property.
• Oversee and coordinate work performed by external service providers and vendors.
• Manage ongoing building or property projects and maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities.
• Secure the facility after 5 PM, Monday‑Friday, and ensure all equipment files are up‑to‑date.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required profile

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL).
• Possession of a California B‑1 General Contractor license (strongly desirable).
• Prior experience as a building contractor or in a similar maintenance role.
• Excellent planning, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
