About the role

Radiant is developing portable nuclear microreactors and needs a hands‑on Build Engineer to turn high‑speed rotating hardware from design into physical prototypes. This entry‑level position is ideal for recent graduates or early‑career engineers who want to gain practical experience assembling complex turbomachinery for a first‑of‑its‑kind reactor program.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and integrate prototype turbomachinery components such as compressors, turbines, rotors, electric motors, bearings, seals, and housings.
• Develop precise assembly instructions, alignment procedures, and torque specifications.
• Support rotor stacking, bearing installation, balancing, and alignment operations.
• Document assembly activities, as‑built observations, and lessons learned.
• Create and maintain build tools, fixtures, and work‑holding solutions.
• Collaborate with design, test, and manufacturing teams to prepare hardware for first‑article testing and validation.
• Provide feedback to improve hardware assembly and integration processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong interest in high‑speed rotating machinery and precision assembly.
• Willingness to work in a fast‑paced startup environment and learn on the job.
