Budgeting Specialist

About the role

Get Flooring, a flooring company serving homes and businesses across the Midwest since 2009, is looking for a detail-oriented Budgeting Specialist. The role supports financial planning by preparing accurate budgets, monitoring expenses and analysing variances, working closely with project managers, estimators and accounting teams. It does not involve managing a team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed project budget forecasts based on project requirements, historical data and market trends.
• Monitor and control project costs by tracking expenditures and flagging deviations from approved budgets.
• Prepare regular budget reports and financial summaries for management decisions.
• Analyse cost variances and investigate discrepancies, recommending corrective actions.
• Collaborate with project managers, estimators and accounting teams to keep budgets accurate and aligned with organisational goals.
• Maintain documentation of budgeting processes, adjustments and approvals to support audits and compliance.
• Support integration of budgeting data with CRM systems such as Pipedrive.
• Assist in preparing cost estimates for new projects and apply accounting principles to record project expenses correctly.
• Improve budgeting processes through automation, standardisation and efficiency gains, and communicate budget updates, risks and opportunities across departments.

Required profile

• 2-3 years of experience in budgeting, cost estimating or project accounting, preferably in construction or flooring.
• Degree in Finance, Construction Management, Accounting or a related field.
• Familiarity with flooring industry pricing and workflows.

Required skills

• Proficiency in budgeting software and tools such as Excel and QuickBooks.
• Experience with CRM software such as Pipedrive is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving and communication skills.
