Brewery Maintenance Electrical Technician

About the role

The Brewery Maintenance Electrical Technician works alongside production teams to keep high‑speed brewing equipment running reliably. This position combines hands‑on mechanical work with advanced electrical troubleshooting in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. The role supports continuous improvement projects and ensures plant safety and quality standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders and provide maintenance support for 480‑volt, 3‑phase systems.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul equipment such as gearboxes, bearings, pumps, and valves.
• Maintain and program PLCs, variable speed drives, and servo controllers.
• Interpret schematics, equipment manuals, and process documentation.
• Use SAP to record corrective and preventive maintenance activities.
• Participate in process‑improvement initiatives and root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED; 3+ years industrial mechanical/electrical experience or a related technical degree.
• Experience with high‑speed manufacturing equipment and safety procedures (LOTO, confined‑space).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and stand, bend, twist for extended periods.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts (midnights or afternoons) and overtime, including weekends and holidays.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and CMMS usage.

Required skills

• PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen‑Bradley PLC5, ControlLogix, Siemens PCS7).
• Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and servo motor control.
• Interpretation of electrical schematics and high‑voltage (480 V) systems.
• Process instrumentation calibration and maintenance.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic controller knowledge.
• Computer networking basics (routers, Ethernet switches).
• SAP and CMMS documentation.
• Mechanical maintenance skills (bearing, chain, valve, pump replacement).
