Board Operator (Seasonal, Part-Time)

About the role

iHeartMedia Markets is hiring a Board Operator in North Canton, Ohio, to provide programming and control board support to on-air talent. The position is seasonal and part-time, with hourly pay of $11.00-$12.00 depending on experience and qualifications.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the control board for studios and remote programming
• Regulate program timing, run syndicated programming and play commercials
• Screen phone calls for talk shows and select callers for on-air talent
• Monitor the technical quality of incoming and outgoing on-air programming from the master control room
• Support off-air commercial production, dub music to hard disk and manage programming automation computers
• Censor live programs to protect the station's license and delete words or phrases not permitted on air
• Execute playlists for server, tape or simulcast programming
• Adjust signal and programming content so transmissions meet federal broadcast standards
• Process time-out programming and monitor and update weather, traffic and news reports into automation equipment
• Check studio equipment and notify Engineering of malfunctions, and handle emergency inserts such as news updates and alert system tests

Required profile

• Flexibility for evenings, overnight and weekends
• Comfort in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
• Previous experience in a related role and/or technical training
• Ability to follow standardized procedures, escalate when needed and solve straightforward problems
• Close attention to detail and good communication with coworkers and outside contacts
