Bilingual Legal Assistant – French/English (Immigration Law)

About the role

We are looking for a highly organized Bilingual Legal Assistant fluent in French and English to support a U.S.-based immigration law practice. The role is fully remote and involves assisting attorneys with asylum and immigration cases, ensuring accurate documentation and client communication.

Key responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in preparing and organizing asylum and immigration case files.
• Gather client information, supporting evidence, declarations, and required documentation.
• Communicate professionally with French‑ and English‑speaking clients via phone, email and other channels.
• Help clients complete questionnaires, forms and document requests.
• Prepare, review, organize and maintain legal documents and case files, including translation when needed.
• Track case deadlines, appointments and follow‑ups, and update case management systems.
• Provide administrative and case‑management support while adhering to confidentiality and legal procedures.

Required profile

• Fluency in written and spoken French and English.
• Hands‑on experience with U.S. asylum cases (mandatory).
• Previous experience as a legal assistant, paralegal or immigration assistant.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment while collaborating with a legal team.

Required skills

• Familiarity with legal case management systems.
• Experience using CRM platforms.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
