Bilingual Intake Specialist (English/Spanish) for Substance Use Disorder Center

About the role

The Bilingual Intake Specialist will conduct screenings, assess eligibility, and facilitate admissions for clients seeking treatment at CRI-Help’s residential substance use disorder programs. This position requires fluency in English and Spanish and a compassionate, organized approach to client intake.

Key responsibilities

• Handle inquiries from individuals seeking treatment and provide program information.
• Schedule and conduct eligibility screenings using tools such as ASAM, CalOMS, and various risk assessments.
• Assess applicants to determine appropriate level of care and admit clients, completing all required documentation promptly.
• Identify red‑flags, provide crisis intervention, and coordinate case management as needed.
• Verify private insurance benefits, conduct pre‑certifications, and assist clients with Medi‑Cal applications.
• Collaborate with Clinical Director, nurses, and other staff to ensure high‑quality care.
• Perform client urinalysis tests, search belongings, and provide referrals.

Required profile

• Bilingual in English and Spanish with excellent written and oral communication skills.
• 2‑3 years of experience in admissions or intake procedures, preferably in a substance‑use treatment setting.
• Professional demeanor, strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Willingness to undergo random drug screenings.

Required skills

• Proficiency with assessment tools (ASAM, CalOMS, Mental Status, Suicide Risk, Trauma, PrePare, Tobacco assessments).
• Ability to verify insurance benefits, conduct pre‑certifications, and understand Medi‑Cal Master Aid Codes.
