Banquet Server

About the role

ASM Global, a leader in venue management and live event production, is hiring a Banquet Server in Burbank. The server reports to the Director of Food and Beverage and works on events, setting tables, serving guests and helping prepare the banquet space.

Key responsibilities

• Report for work in proper uniform at the scheduled time and follow instructions from the Food & Beverage Manager and/or Banquet Captain.
• Assist with collecting banquet equipment such as flatware, china, glassware and serving pieces.
• Help prepare garnishes, beverages, condiments and breads, and clean and fill salt and pepper containers, sugar dishes and creamers.
• Prepare and set up event rooms and tables with place settings as instructed.
• Attend the pre-function meeting for a briefing of event details.
• Provide friendly, courteous customer service, report customer concerns or complaints to the Banquet Captain, and stay at the assigned station.
• Break down tables and equipment after each event, clean and return serving pieces to storage.
• Follow grooming standards, service standards and procedures, and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• At least six months of work experience in a service-oriented environment.
• Flexible schedule to cover events.
• Able to stand for long hours, walk around the facility, and lift and carry up to 25 lbs above shoulder level for up to 5 minutes at a time.

Required skills

• Knowledge of catering services and terminology.
• Strong guest service skills.
• Ability to receive and carry out instructions promptly.
