About the role
Our group is looking for confectioners and bakers to join our supermarket. As a confectioner you will add your creative flair to the bakery’s current lines and also produce your own creations.
Key responsibilities
- Mix, prepare and bake a variety of confectionery and dough products.
- Creatively decorate baked goods and apply glazes, icings or other toppings.
- Knead, roll, cut and shape dough, and place it in pans or moulds.
- Set oven temperatures, monitor baking, and observe colour and state of products.
- Prepare equipment for baking and icing cakes.
- Maintain hygiene, housekeeping and health‑department compliance in the bakery.
- Check expiry dates of merchandised products and keep the sales area clean and presentable.
Required profile
- Grade 12 education.
- Minimum two years of confectioner and baking experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of bakery products, ingredients and hygiene/safety standards.
- Creative flair for product presentation.
