Backup Production/Packaging Supervisor

About the role

The Backup Production/Packaging Supervisor supports the Associate Manager in overseeing the manufacturing floor, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity across production and packaging operations. This internal position focuses on maintaining compliance with SOPs, cGMPs, and regulatory standards while motivating the associate team.

Key responsibilities

• Identify efficiency issues and develop corrective solutions.
• Monitor productivity, motivate staff, and ensure accurate completion of all required paperwork.
• Manage payroll and attendance for production and packaging employees, submitting payroll on time.
• Supervise, counsel, and coach team members regularly.
• Enforce preventive control and SOP requirements, including baking time/temperature, sanitation controls, metal‑detector checks, and UPC code verification.
• Develop and execute production plans, schedule personnel, track progress, and produce shift summaries.
• Analyze production output against specifications and recommend improvements.
• Resolve personnel issues through data analysis and investigation.
• Handle, store, and dispose of waste streams in compliance with environmental regulations.
• Maintain a safe work environment and report unsafe conditions.
• Ensure all required employee training is completed and documented.
• Uphold company policies, Mondelez Quality Policies, and regulatory requirements (FDA, SQF, New York State).

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising production and packaging teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of cGMP, SOPs, and food‑safety regulations.
• Ability to analyze operational data, identify problems, and implement solutions.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
