Automotive Technician (PT) - Lihue

About the role

Avis Budget Group is hiring an Automotive Technician (B Tech) in Lihue, Hawaii, to perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on a diverse fleet of newer vehicles across multiple brands. The work is done with minimal technical supervision and directly supports vehicle performance and availability so customers can get on the road safely. The position is part-time and requires regular, on-site presence.

Key responsibilities

• Perform essential mechanical repairs and maintenance on newer vehicles, such as oil and fluid services, tire repairs, brake work, suspension repairs and routine maintenance or warranty-related repairs depending on experience.
• Support senior technicians with more complex diagnostic and repair work as you build your skills.

Required profile

• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional auto repair experience or automotive coursework with certifications.
• At least 1 ASE certification, with the ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year.
• Working knowledge of ASE areas such as Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance and Light Vehicle/Diesel.
• Previous OEM experience is preferred.
• Must be 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a mechanical shop with moderate to loud noise levels.

Required skills

• Complete set of tools required for automotive repair and maintenance.
• Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry.
