Automotive Instructor – General Automotive

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Automotive Instructor to join the Engineering Construction Manufacturing and Design Division at Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The role involves delivering both lecture and lab instruction in general automotive technology, supporting student success, and contributing to the college’s recruitment and placement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials for automotive courses (≈20% of time).
• Assess and evaluate student progress toward learning objectives (≈30%).
• Maintain required documentation, grades, and administrative reports (≈10%).
• Demonstrate professional effort and reliability within the department (≈10%).
• Incorporate supervisor feedback and follow institutional policies (≈10%).
• Assist with student recruitment, retention, and job placement activities (≈10%).
• Perform additional duties supporting the mission of Gwinnett Technical College (≈10%).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR an AAT/AS/AAS in Automotive Technology.
• Minimum two years of relevant automotive industry experience.
• ASE certification or comparable industry credentials.
• Preferred: experience teaching at the post‑secondary level.

Required skills
