Attorney/Lawyer – Commercial Contracts & Litigation Support

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Attorney/Lawyer to join a contract engagement in Warwick, Rhode Island. The role focuses on advising on commercial agreements, delivering practical legal analysis, and supporting litigation matters in partnership with internal leadership and external counsel.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, examine, and negotiate a variety of business agreements, including service, construction, and other commercial contracts.
• Conduct legal research on complex matters and translate findings into concise guidance for non‑legal stakeholders.
• Partner with senior leadership to manage active litigation, coordinate with outside counsel, and oversee discovery requests.
• Review court filings, draft legal responses, and support strategy for pleadings and motion practice.
• Identify legal risks in proposed agreements and disputes, recommending practical, business‑aligned solutions.

Required profile

• Active license to practice law with demonstrated experience as an attorney.
• Background in civil litigation, capable of supporting disputes from early assessment through discovery and filings.
• Strong judgment, clear communication, and ability to present legal concepts to non‑legal audiences.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities within a contract assignment.
