About the role
The U.S. Marine Corps is recruiting qualified attorneys to serve as active‑duty Judge Advocates. As a uniformed legal officer, you will provide counsel across a wide range of military legal matters, supporting national security operations worldwide.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct criminal and civil litigation on behalf of the Marine Corps.
- Advise commanders on international affairs, administrative law, and operational legal issues.
- Participate in investigations, prosecutions, and defense of service members.
- Provide legal guidance for policy development and compliance.
- Maintain physical fitness and leadership standards required of all Marine officers.
Required profile
- U.S. citizenship.
- J.D. from an ABA‑accredited law school (or currently pursuing).
- Under 41 years of age.
- Ability to meet Marine Corps physical fitness standards.
- Law school transcript required if less than three years of practice.

- Starting salary between $103,000 and $150,000 per year.
- Potential salary increase up to $110,000 within two years.
