Attorney 3 – State of Georgia

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking an Attorney 3 to provide legal analysis and recommendations across agency matters. Working under broad supervision, you will serve as a key liaison between the agency and the Department of Law, helping to protect the interests of Georgia’s citizens.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze legal issues within the agency’s scope and draft actionable recommendations.
• Represent the agency in communications and negotiations with the Department of Law.
• Prepare legal memoranda, opinions, and other documentation as required.
• Stay informed of relevant statutes, regulations, and case law affecting agency operations.

Required profile

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited institution.
• License to practice law in Georgia, or eligibility to sit for the Georgia Bar exam with successful passage and licensure within one year of hiring, or reciprocity.
• At least two years of relevant legal experience, or two years of experience at the lower‑level Attorney 2 position.
