Associate/Full Professor – Educational Leadership (Dissertation & Research)

About the role

The College of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University‑San Antonio seeks a tenure‑track or tenured Associate/Full Professor in Educational Leadership. The appointment begins Spring 2027 and focuses on graduate and doctoral instruction, dissertation chairing, and research mentorship.

Key responsibilities

• Teach 2‑3 graduate/doctoral courses (3‑credit each) each semester, with flexible day, night, or weekend schedules.
• Chair and mentor dissertation projects, guiding doctoral candidates to successful degree completion.
• Collaborate with school administrators, department colleagues, and external partners.
• Participate in departmental, college, university, and professional service committees.
• Coordinate program initiatives, ensure alignment with departmental goals, and assess opportunities for collaboration.

Required profile

• Earned doctoral degree in Educational Leadership or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Extensive experience chairing dissertations and a proven record of mentoring doctoral students.
• Academic record meeting Texas A&M University and system tenure qualifications.
• Experience with both quantitative and qualitative dissertation research.
• Familiarity with local education agencies, higher‑education institutions, and university‑level administration.
• Superintendent certification and experience are preferred.
