Job description
About the role
SailPoint's Cybersecurity organization is looking for an Associate Security Software Engineer to join its Security Architecture and Engineering team. You will write custom code and tool-agnostic middleware that bridges diverse security stacks, going beyond out-of-the-box vendor capabilities. The role is remote or based in Austin, TX.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, test and maintain custom security tools, middleware and automation scripts that integrate isolated security platforms such as Entra ID, Intune, EDR, SIEM and SaaS apps.
- Use REST, GraphQL and webhooks to create tool-agnostic data flows for automated enforcement and telemetry sharing.
- Help identify gaps in out-of-the-box vendor capabilities and build custom software to close them.
- Build and support user interfaces and dashboards for internal security tools, usable by Security Operations and business users.
- Maintain automated deployment pipelines for security controls, incident response playbooks (SOAR) and continuous monitoring.
- Translate security policies into automated, code-driven solutions with stakeholders.
- Follow information security, secure software development lifecycle and compliance standards such as ISO, NIST and SOX.
Required profile
- 2-4 years of experience in software engineering, security automation or DevOps, focused on internal tools or integrations.
- Familiarity with enterprise security concepts, especially IAM, Zero Trust and MAM/MDM.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams in an agile, fast-paced environment.
Required skills
- Full-stack development with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vue or Angular.
- API integration languages such as Python, Go or Node.js.
- APIs, OAuth/OIDC, webhooks and integration layers.
- Cloud hosting (preferably AWS), serverless Lambda or Docker/Kubernetes.
- CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions), Terraform and system debugging.
What we offer
- Estimated base salary for US-based employees of $69,200 - $116,584, with competitive pay elsewhere.
- Possible eligibility for the corporate bonus plan, role-specific commission and equity participation.
- Medical, dental and vision insurance, disability, life insurance and HSA.
- 401(k) with company matching, flexible spending accounts, 8 paid holidays, sick leave and paid parental leave.
- Employee assistance program and voluntary benefit options.
