Associate Project Engineer

About the role

Moog’s Santa Barbara Operations in Goleta, CA is seeking an Associate Project Engineer to support mission‑critical systems for modern military platforms. The role involves developing and managing project plans, coordinating with customers and subcontractors, and ensuring a smooth transition from development to production.

Key responsibilities

• Construct development program plans for assigned projects, including analyses, hardware development, and testing.
• Coordinate implementation of program plans and support activities, monitoring schedule and cost targets.
• Maintain oversight of program progress and ensure transfer of robust designs to production.
• Interact with customers and subcontractors to resolve issues, negotiate technical details, and report progress.
• Coordinate activities of program support departments, providing direction and technical assistance.
• Evaluate alternatives and conduct trade studies when hardware discrepancies or test anomalies arise.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Self‑starting attitude with ability to learn advanced design and analysis techniques quickly.
• Basic knowledge of closed‑loop control systems and mechanical/electrical hardware design.
• Strong communication skills with engineers, production staff, and management.
• Willingness to adapt and implement improvements to meet business needs.
