Associate Director, Technical Product Management
Moody's · New York
Job description
About the role
Moody's is hiring an Associate Director, Technical Product Management for its MCFL (Casualty and Financial Lines) team in New York. The team builds AI-native products for the casualty insurance market, turning real-world data into decision-grade intelligence and exposing it through platform services, APIs and standards. The role leads several workstreams combining large language model-based extraction and agentic workflows with platform foundations.
Key responsibilities
- Lead product workstreams combining AI capabilities with platform services and standards, owning direction for multiple concurrent workstreams
- Translate strategy and roadmap into sequenced, outcome-oriented plans
- Write engineering-ready specifications, acceptance criteria and lightweight designs, and sequence dependencies while keeping engineering unblocked
- Partner with engineering, design and data science on AI workflows such as LLM extraction, automated validation, confidence scoring and data provenance
- Define how capabilities are exposed to clients via public APIs, agent-facing interfaces and application experiences
- Work with internal platform, data and interface teams so outputs integrate cleanly and follow enterprise standards
- Run client demonstrations, gather feedback and shape partnerships
- Define tests, rules and real-data quality checks and guard against scope creep
Required profile
- Ten or more years in product management, with a track record in technical, data-intensive or platform products and time in a product leadership role
- Experience taking an AI or data-driven product from ambiguity to production, not just managing an established roadmap
- Bachelor's degree in a technical, quantitative or business discipline, or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree desired but not required
- Insurance, reinsurance or a related domain strongly preferred; adjacent regulated-data fields such as financial services, risk or enterprise data will be considered
Required skills
- Fluent writing of technical specifications, acceptance criteria and lightweight designs
- Platform and API sensibility, including reusable services, consistent standards and modern integration surfaces
- Ability to run several workstreams in parallel under shifting priorities
- Proficiency in AI concepts and hands-on use of AI tools to streamline workflows
- Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions and awareness of AI risk management
What we offer
- Anticipated base salary range of $142,500 to $206,700 for US-based roles, plus incentive compensation
- Benefits including medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, 401(k), life, disability and accident insurance, employee stock purchase plan and tuition reimbursement
