Associate Design Engineer I

About the role

Fluor is seeking an Associate Design Engineer I to join its engineering team. This entry‑level position supports project leads by applying fundamental design engineering principles to deliver quality solutions for government contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine engineering calculations and specify simple equipment.
• Review vendor equipment documentation for compliance and resolve discrepancies.
• Participate in equipment and material procurement activities.
• Apply industry codes, standards, and departmental procedures to all work.
• Analyze problems of varying complexity and provide independent recommendations.
• Organize and prioritize multiple tasks to meet project deadlines.
• Support the Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects and complete specific engineering assignments.
• Execute other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Accredited four‑year engineering degree (or global equivalent).
• Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) status preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to learn and apply local, state/province, and federal regulations.
• Detail‑oriented and able to work efficiently under time constraints.
