Associate Civil Engineer – Land Development & Municipal Projects

About the role

The Mannik & Smith Group (MSG) is seeking an Associate Civil Engineer to work on land development, municipal, and infrastructure projects in Maumee, Ohio. You will be involved in every stage of a project—from design and permitting to field support and construction documentation—while receiving mentorship from experienced engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop civil engineering designs and drawings for site layouts, grading, drainage, utilities, and roadways using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Prepare permitting applications for local, state, and federal agencies.
• Perform engineering calculations, feasibility studies, and technical reports to inform design decisions.
• Collaborate with project managers, surveyors, and other engineering disciplines to deliver coordinated solutions.
• Support stormwater management and drainage design, and conduct site visits and field inspections.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 0–3 years of civil engineering design experience, preferably in land development or municipal projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software.
• Interest in stormwater management and site development design.
• EIT certification preferred or willingness to obtain it.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
