Assistant/Associate Professor – Wildlife Specialist

About the role

The University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor to serve as a Wildlife Specialist within the Department of Forest Resources. The faculty member will lead a statewide extension program focused on wildlife management, supporting landowners, hunters, homeowners, and youth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver extension programs on upland game bird management and nuisance/invasive wildlife issues.
• Collaborate with natural resources researchers and extension agents to address stakeholder needs.
• Create educational materials and workshops for 4‑H youth, county extension agents, and the public.
• Conduct outreach and provide technical guidance to landowners and hunters.
• Participate in departmental research and service activities.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in wildlife biology, ecology, or a related field.
• Experience in wildlife management and extension education.
• Strong communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Ability to develop curricula and outreach programs.
