Assistant/Associate Professor of the Practice and Assistant Director

About the role

The Assistant/Associate Professor of the Practice and Assistant Director will lead and manage outreach portfolios for the PV A&M University Extension within the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources. Reporting to the Professor and Executive Associate Director, the role combines academic responsibilities with operational leadership of extension programs.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day management and strategic development of extension outreach portfolios.
• Formulate and implement policies and procedures that support effective program delivery.
• Conduct independent extension activities aligned with USDA NIFA priorities and state‑wide critical issues.
• Provide strategic advice on outreach design, development, and best practices.
• Engage faculty, departments, staff, and external stakeholders to promote extension values and regional needs.
• Lead strategic planning, assess program impact, and measure outcomes.
• Advocate for PV A&M Extension services and pursue funding opportunities.
• Initiate and manage cross‑functional collaborations to expand land‑grant mission.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in a relevant agricultural or extension discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in extension program leadership, outreach development, and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong record of securing external funding and managing grant‑funded projects.
• Ability to work collaboratively within an academic environment and guide multidisciplinary teams.
