Assistant Vice President and Deputy Risk Officer

About the role

The Assistant Vice President and Deputy Risk Officer will lead the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis’ risk management framework, ensuring robust oversight of enterprise risk, business continuity, privacy, COSO compliance and data governance. Reporting to the Vice President and Chief Finance and Risk Officer, the role partners with senior leaders, system partners and external stakeholders to embed risk awareness and resilience across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Direct the Bank’s Enterprise Risk Management program, including board‑level reporting, risk profiling and event documentation.
• Oversee Business Continuity planning, testing, crisis management and communication to maintain operational resilience.
• Lead the Privacy program, ensuring regulatory compliance and fostering a culture of data protection.
• Manage the COSO internal control framework to satisfy financial reporting requirements.
• Prepare risk documentation for executive committees, the Board of Directors and the Board of Governors.
• Represent the Bank on system‑wide risk groups and contribute to system‑level risk reporting.
• Provide subject‑matter expertise on emerging risks, industry trends and best practices.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in risk management within a banking or financial institution.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence senior leadership.
• Strong understanding of enterprise risk, business continuity, privacy regulations and COSO principles.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
