The University of Tulsa is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support the True Blue Neighbors Youth Scholars Program. The role involves assisting classroom instruction, supervising students, and fostering a safe, equitable learning environment for diverse youth.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with classroom instruction and supervision of students.
• Assist with program attendance tracking.
• Support a safe, equitable learning environment for students of all racial, cultural, and socio‑economic backgrounds.
• Supervise both indoor and outdoor extracurricular activities.
• Implement age‑appropriate activities that align with TBNYS program goals.
• Help maintain a clean and organized learning environment.
• Check classroom and program equipment to ensure it is in good condition.
• Attend required professional development and training opportunities.
• Participate in family engagement events and activities.
• Maintain a positive attitude and collaborate as a team member.

Required profile

• Experience working with children.
• Computer literacy skills.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Effective communication skills.
• Previous K‑12 program experience (preferred).
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).
