Assistant Teacher – Preschool

About the role

The Preschool Teacher Assistant supports the lead teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for young children. This role involves assisting with classroom management, preparing instructional materials, supervising children during activities, and promoting positive social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and educational games aligned with the curriculum.
• Supervise children during classroom activities, playtime, meals, and outdoor periods to ensure safety and positive behavior.
• Reinforce classroom rules and support behavior management, helping children develop social and emotional skills.
• Prepare and organize learning materials, resources, and displays to facilitate hands‑on learning.
• Maintain a clean and hazard‑free classroom environment, including sanitizing toys and equipment.
• Provide one‑on‑one or small‑group support to children who need extra assistance or emotional guidance.
• Observe children’s development and communicate observations or concerns to the lead teacher.
• Assist with daily routines such as arrivals, departures, toileting, meals, and rest time.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent (required).
• Completion of a TKT training course.
• Prior experience working with young children in an educational or care setting (preferred).
