Assistant Professor/Instructor in Geoscience

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Professor/Instructor to join the Geoscience department at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith. This non‑tenure‑track faculty position involves teaching undergraduate courses, mentoring students, and contributing to departmental activities. Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver undergraduate geoscience courses, including labs and field components.
• Assess student performance and provide academic advising.
• Participate in curriculum development and departmental meetings.
• Engage in outreach and service activities within the university and the broader community.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure safety compliance.

Required profile

• Earned graduate degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Geoscience or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate level.

• Experience with fieldwork and laboratory instruction is preferred.
