Assistant Professor – Tenure Track Faculty Position

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking an Assistant Professor to join its faculty on a tenure‑track basis. This full‑time position supports the institution’s mission of education, research, and clinical excellence within the College of Medicine.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate curricula in internal medicine or related fields.
• Conduct independent and collaborative research, securing external funding where possible.
• Publish scholarly work in peer‑reviewed journals and present at professional conferences.
• Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to students, residents, and fellows.
• Participate in departmental service, committees, and community outreach.

Required profile

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent doctoral degree in a health‑related discipline.
• Eligibility for board certification in internal medicine or a related specialty.
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching, research, and clinical service.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
