Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track) – Accounting

About the role

Tarleton State University invites applications for a nine‑month, tenure‑track Assistant Professor position in Accounting within the Department of Accounting, Finance & Economics, Dr. Sam Pack College of Business. The successful candidate will join a vibrant academic community, contributing to teaching, research, and service while supporting both on‑campus and online programs.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate accounting courses, including cost/managerial accounting, auditing, and related subjects.
• Develop syllabi, instructional materials, assessments, and incorporate innovative teaching methods and technology.
• Assess student learning, provide timely feedback, and mentor students academically and professionally.
• Participate in curriculum development, program assessment, and AACSB accreditation activities.
• Maintain an active research agenda, publish in peer‑reviewed journals, and present at professional conferences.
• Seek external funding and professional development opportunities aligned with departmental goals.
• Serve on departmental, college, and university committees, contributing to student recruitment and faculty mentoring.

Required profile

• Earned Ph.D. in Accounting from an accredited university by the start date.
• Demonstrated potential for excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching.
• Evidence of scholarly research potential and a record of publications or conference presentations.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
