About the role
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock seeks an Assistant Professor of Voice for a nine‑month academic appointment. The successful candidate will join the School of Literary and Performing Arts, teaching applied voice and specialized undergraduate courses that support both the Bachelor of Applied Music and the Bachelor of Music Education programs.
Key responsibilities
- Teach applied voice, diction, and voice pedagogy courses to undergraduate students.
- Maintain an active voice studio and provide individual instruction.
- Coordinate voice studio scheduling and resources in collaboration with school administration.
- Advise applied‑voice majors on academic and career planning.
- Participate in departmental service, curriculum development, and community outreach.
Required profile
- Terminal degree (MFA, MM, DMA, PhD or equivalent) in music or a closely related field.
- University‑level teaching experience in voice.
- Demonstrated ability to teach a diverse repertoire, including contemporary musical theatre.
- Experience advising and mentoring undergraduate students.
Required skills
- Voice pedagogy and studio management.
- Diction instruction for vocal performance.
