About the role
The Department of Communication invites applications for a tenure‑track Assistant Professor specializing in Health Communication, beginning August 2027. This nine‑month, in‑person faculty position combines teaching, research, and service.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in health communication.
- Conduct independent and collaborative research using qualitative, quantitative, or mixed‑methods approaches, aiming for peer‑reviewed publications and external funding.
- Engage in community‑based and applied scholarship addressing health challenges in Arkansas.
- Contribute to departmental, college, and university service activities.
Required profile
- Terminal degree (Ph.D.) in Communication or a closely related field.
- Active research program in health communication with evidence of community‑engaged scholarship.
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness in health communication at the university level.
Required skills
- Expertise in qualitative, quantitative, and mixed‑methods research.
- Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary research teams and community stakeholders.
