About the role
The Department of English invites applications for a tenure‑track Assistant Professor specializing in Early Modern British Literature, beginning August 2027. This nine‑month, in‑person appointment includes teaching, research, and service responsibilities.
Key responsibilities
- Teach two courses per semester, including Introduction to Shakespeare and other early modern British literature courses.
- Maintain an active research agenda, publish scholarly work, and contribute to the university’s research mission.
- Provide academic service through departmental, college, and university committees, and mentor graduate and undergraduate students.
Required profile
- Terminal degree (Ph.D.) in English or a closely related field by the start date.
- Evidence of an active or potential research agenda with a strong national reputation.
- Demonstrated effective undergraduate teaching, including ability to teach introductory Shakespeare courses.
