Assistant Production Manager

About the role

The Assistant Production Manager supports the Shop Foreman in daily operations of a precision‑aluminum cabinet manufacturing facility in Brockton, MA. This onsite role blends administrative coordination with hands‑on floor presence to keep production flowing efficiently and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine shop‑floor walkthroughs to monitor productivity, workflow, and safety compliance.
• Coordinate production schedules across fabrication, assembly, and finishing departments, balancing workload to avoid bottlenecks.
• Track job progress, update work orders, and communicate schedule adjustments to teams.
• Monitor inventory levels, flag material shortages, and work with purchasing to ensure material readiness.
• Support quality initiatives by identifying concerns and assisting with corrective actions.
• Gather production metrics, analyze trends, and provide operational reports to leadership.

Required profile

• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in a supervisory support role.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple schedules and priorities.
• Effective communication skills to act as a bridge between shop leadership and production staff.
• Commitment to safety standards and quality assurance practices.
