About the role
The position is based in the ASTRO research unit of INRAE’s Antilles and Guyana centre. You will join the Scientific Instrumentation Pole, supporting the development and deployment of measurement devices for bio‑climatology, agronomy, pedology and river hydrology projects, including the KARUSMART micro‑farm and the OPALE pollution observatory.
Key responsibilities
- Design, install, calibrate and maintain instrumented setups in laboratories, greenhouses, fields and remote stations.
- Develop and integrate IoT solutions for data acquisition, low‑bandwidth networking and wireless transmission.
- Maintain five hydrological/precipitation stations and three meteorological stations operated by Météo‑France.
- Test innovative technologies such as computer‑vision and AI‑based sensors on the KARUSMART agro‑ecological platform.
- Collaborate with researchers in bio‑climatology, agronomy, pedology and hydrology to meet experimental measurement needs.
Required profile
- Engineering degree (instrumentation, electronics, physics or related field).
- Strong interest in agricultural and environmental research.
- Ability to work both in a laboratory environment and in outdoor field conditions.
- Good teamwork and communication skills within a multidisciplinary research team.
