About the role
The Assistant Director of Special Events partners with senior development leadership to drive unrestricted support for Girls Inc. by planning and executing flagship luncheons, specialty events, and multi‑channel appeals. This hybrid position blends frontline fundraising with operational oversight.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the planning, logistics, and creative strategy for two annual luncheons in New York and Los Angeles, targeting $1M in revenue each year.
- Manage volunteer host committees, co‑chair relationships, and serve as primary contact for event consultants and project managers.
- Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to develop event marketing plans and coordinate day‑of activities.
- Develop and manage event budgets, oversee honoree selection, and ensure accurate financial tracking.
- Drive donor cultivation through intimate breakfasts, virtual webinars, and multi‑channel appeals.
- Provide Salesforce reporting and maintain seamless donor engagement alongside the Individual Giving team.
Required profile
- Proven experience in nonprofit fundraising and large‑scale event management.
- Strong background in donor stewardship, especially for four‑ and five‑figure gifts.
- Ability to manage budgets, volunteer teams, and cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
