About the role

The Assistant Director of Equipment Operations supports athletic team operations at the University of Miami, overseeing practice logistics, game management, and equipment handling. The role ensures locker rooms, laundry, and equipment rooms are organized and ready for competitions and practices.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate team practices, locker rooms, and arena equipment rooms, handling laundry, set‑up, and problem solving.
• Maintain and monitor equipment room budgets, supplies, and inventories for multiple sports.
• Track equipment inventory using inventory system software.
• Manage all laundry and locker‑room operations for assigned teams.
• Collaborate with support staff and coaches to create a professional environment for teams and officials.
• Oversee home‑game operations in compliance with conference, NCAA, and university facility guidelines.
• Ensure facility set‑up and takedown for scheduled activities and games.
• Establish internal controls, train employees on policies, and ensure compliance with university procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated ability in strategic alignment, financial management, resource allocation, and team leadership.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence and articulate strategic vision.

Required skills

• Proficiency with inventory system software.
• Experience using data analytics for performance measurement.
