Assistant Director of Development – Corporate & Foundation Relations

About the role

The Assistant Director of Development supports the A. James Clark School of Engineering in achieving its corporate and foundation fundraising goals. This role cultivates new partnerships, manages existing relationships, and represents the school strategically to donors.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, solicit, and secure gifts of $25,000 and above from corporate, foundation, and institutional donors.
• Develop and maintain a prospect pipeline in collaboration with the Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations.
• Manage the Clark School Corporate Partners Program, including membership outreach, benefits delivery, recognition, and event coordination.
• Provide strategic fundraising support to student groups and competition teams, advising on case statements and sponsor communications.
• Collaborate with department chairs, school leadership, and volunteer boards to promote best practices in donor engagement.
• Support college-wide initiatives such as the Capstone Design Expo.
• Travel locally and occasionally nationally; work evenings and weekends as needed.

Required profile

• Experience in higher education or industry fundraising, with a proven record of securing gifts above $50,000.
• Demonstrated success building and stewarding corporate relationships.
• Strong understanding of donor stewardship, prospect research, and partnership development.
• Ability to work independently and as part of the Engineering Advancement Office.
