Assistant Director – Insurance Financial Oversight

About the role

Join the State of Georgia’s Insurance Financial Oversight division as an Assistant Director, leading risk‑focused financial surveillance of domestic insurers. You will support the IFO Director in supervising analysts and contractors, ensuring robust financial monitoring across the state.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the IFO Director in supervising division staff and contractors performing financial surveillance of Georgia‑based insurers.
• Review and validate financial analysis results, risk assessments, and documentation prepared by the team.
• Develop and maintain monitoring plans for regulated insurance organizations.
• Analyze insurer financial statements, quarterly filings, supplemental regulatory reports, and industry data to identify performance trends and solvency risks.
• Monitor risk‑based capital reporting and other risk indicators for individual insurers and insurance groups.
• Coordinate information from rating agencies, public disclosures, and regulatory filings to ensure analysis aligns with entity size, complexity, and risk profile.
• Communicate findings and oversight matters to internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Support compliance evaluations, regulatory response actions, and cross‑team oversight activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the IFO Director.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a related field with at least two years of management experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree with three years of management experience, OR seven years of relevant experience including three years in a management role, OR one year of experience at the lower‑level Manager 2, Regulatory Compliance position (or equivalent).
