About the role
The Assistant Community Manager supports the Community Manager in overseeing the financial and operational aspects of a stabilized garden‑style community of 192 units. This position handles daily accounting tasks, rent collection, invoicing, and ensures accurate reporting using property‑management software.
Key responsibilities
- Collect and post rent, fees, and other resident payments; prepare daily bank deposits and reconcile accounts.
- Process invoices and payables, code charges to the appropriate Chart of Accounts, and obtain Community Manager approval.
- Operate Yardi/OneSite software, entering transactions accurately and performing regular system backups.
- Review resident files for unpaid or late fees, communicate balances, and enforce lease terms to maximize revenue.
- Assist with eviction procedures, including notice requirements, court representation, and resident move‑out processing.
- Prepare monthly close‑out financial reports and support the preparation of budget and variance analyses.
Required profile
- Experience with accounting or bookkeeping in a residential property‑management environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple financial transactions accurately.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with residents, vendors, and internal teams.
- Familiarity with eviction processes and lease enforcement practices.
