Assistant Clinical Professor & MLS Program Coordinator

About the role

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences seeks a non‑tenure‑track Assistant Clinical Professor who will also serve as the Program Coordinator for the Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) program. This 9‑month appointment begins in Spring 2027 and requires on‑campus presence to support teaching, accreditation, and program leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate MLS lecture and laboratory courses in areas such as microbiology, hematology, and immunology.
• Lead curriculum development, student learning assessment, and continuous program improvement.
• Oversee NAACLS accreditation processes and ensure compliance with standards.
• Coordinate clinical education sites, maintain affiliations with healthcare organizations, and develop new experiential learning opportunities.
• Support student recruitment, admissions, advising, mentoring, and progress monitoring.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant field (science, MLS, or business administration).
• Current MLS certification (MLS(ASCP)CM) and at least three years of MLS practice.
• Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to meet NAACLS qualifications for program directors.
• Proven capacity to teach core MLS lecture and laboratory courses.
