Assessment Social Worker

About the role

DOROT is seeking an Assessment Social Worker to conduct comprehensive home assessments for new and ongoing older‑adult participants, match them with supportive services, and introduce them to DOROT’s program portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Perform independent in‑home assessments, reviewing program eligibility and priorities.
• Provide short‑term case assistance, information, referral, and advocacy for older adults and caregivers.
• Collaborate with the social work team and other staff to initiate program participation.
• Maintain accurate case records in DOROT’s Salesforce database, ensuring timely documentation.
• Facilitate or co‑facilitate multi‑session support or psycho‑educational groups each year.
• Manage a caseload of up to 20 Friendly Visiting matches, conducting quarterly check‑ins and ad‑hoc support.
• Supervise interns and office volunteers as needed.
• Represent DOROT at community outreach events, networking opportunities, and conferences.

Required profile

• LMSW or Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
• Strong affinity for working with older‑adult populations.
• Previous professional social work experience (preferred).
• Excellent interpersonal, clinical, group facilitation, and presentation skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Highly organized, able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Passion for DOROT’s mission and sensitivity to client needs.
• Knowledge of local aging and community resources (a plus).
• Experience working with volunteers (a plus).
• Availability for occasional Sunday or evening events (up to 8 Sundays/nights per year).
