Assembly First Level Manager

About the role

Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is seeking an Assembly First Level Manager to lead a team responsible for assembling complex aerostructures for the Airbus A350 XWB. The role involves overseeing component assembly, structural joining, system installation, and testing while coordinating with engineering, suppliers, and customers to meet product requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team in the GMF assembly area to meet production schedules and customer acceptance.
• Oversee assembly of components into sub‑assemblies, structural joining (metallic and non‑metallic), and installation of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Coordinate with engineering, management, suppliers, and customers to ensure product specifications are met.
• Perform testing using mechanical, electrical, and electronic test equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or four years of equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience and at least 5 years in a leadership/management role.
• Experience working with cross‑functional groups such as Quality, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Machining.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to travel up to 5% domestically/internationally.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
