About the role
Applied Materials is seeking an Assembler II to perform routine electro‑mechanical assembly, troubleshooting and repair of equipment used in semiconductor and display manufacturing. The position is based in Birch Grove, MT and offers a supportive environment for skill development.
Key responsibilities
- Perform routine electro‑mechanical assembly operations, including wiring, aligning, and “go‑no‑go” testing using fixtures.
- Disassemble, modify, rework, refurbish, and reassemble units according to work orders, schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow health‑and‑safety procedures, reporting any hazards.
- Record basic data, provide status updates, and use standard hand tools for precise part positioning.
Required profile
- Ability to follow work orders, schematics and assembly instructions without supervision.
- Basic problem‑solving skills to identify and correct errors in assemblies.
- Understanding of how individual assembly tasks integrate within the larger production team.
Required skills
- Electro‑mechanical assembly and wiring.
- Use of hand tools, test fixtures, and basic diagnostic equipment.
- Wire cutting, stripping and termination.
- Assembly of vacuum and pneumatic components.
