Armed Security Officer – Part‑Time Weekends

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking an Armed Security Officer to provide a safe environment for patients, guests and employees during weekend shifts. This part‑time position involves patrolling the facility, enforcing security policies and responding to incidents in a courteous and professional manner.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce all safety and security rules, regulations and policies on Ochsner property.
• Conduct routine inspections of on‑site and off‑site locations, including interior and exterior areas.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, report occurrences promptly, and assist with opening/lockdown procedures.
• Participate in emergency response drills and act as essential personnel during disasters.
• Maintain required certifications and complete ongoing training.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in security, law enforcement or military.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, valid driver’s license with clean DMV record.
• Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) and firearms training.
• Ability to read, write and speak English and continuously patrol a multi‑floor facility.

Required skills
