Armed DoD Cleared Security Officer

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring an Armed DoD Cleared Security Officer in Albany, NY. The officer protects classified information and personnel and receives site-specific security training matched to their clearance level. The position is part-time.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high-quality security services safeguarding personnel, property and information
• Patrol the facility on foot, bicycle or vehicle to protect people, assets and sensitive or classified information
• Preserve order and enforce rules, regulations and directives
• Greet guests and employees, escort visitors and contractors, secure ingress and egress points and secure classified information
• Follow site performance manuals and post orders, report safety concerns, breaches and unusual circumstances, and coordinate with clients and other security personnel
• Respond to security and emergency alarms, act as first responder and provide first aid when needed

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
• At least 3 years of law enforcement, military or private armed security experience, or 2+ years of armed security, 1+ year as a municipal police officer, or 2+ years in the U.S. armed forces with an honorable discharge
• Able to obtain a DoD security clearance; must be a U.S. citizen
• Minimum age 21 (higher if required by state)
• Willingness to undergo a federal background check including a credit check
• Preferred: associate's degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Business or a related field
