Architect

About the role

HDR is seeking a qualified Architect to join its multidisciplinary team. You will contribute to the design and delivery of revenue‑producing projects across sectors such as healthcare, education, civic, and research facilities, while supporting the firm’s culture of inclusion and employee ownership.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, select and apply standard architectural techniques, adapting them as needed for specific projects.
• Perform assignments with defined objectives, investigating limited variables and following detailed instructions.
• Develop architectural solutions with direction, taking responsibility for phases of individual projects.
• Recommend procedures, write reports and specifications covering architectural matters.
• Collaborate on sustainable design initiatives and LEED‑related goals.
• Perform other duties as required to support project success.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience.
• Registered Architect status.
• Strong leadership, communication and relationship‑management abilities.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Demonstrated graphic presentation capabilities.
• Commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned, inclusive culture.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Autodesk Revit and related design tools.
• Experience using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Project).
• Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, 3‑D Studio Max, Rhino and Grasshopper.
• Familiarity with sustainable design principles and LEED concepts.
