Architect – Core Banking & Payments Solutions

About the role

Thought Machine is looking for an experienced Architect to join its Expert Services team in New York. You will help leading banks modernise their core banking and payments systems using the Vault platform, working across both pre‑sales and delivery engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Present Vault architecture and best practices to senior client stakeholders during pre‑sales and delivery phases.
• Engage with senior client stakeholders, leveraging a broad consulting skillset to define target architectures and transition states.
• Design end‑to‑end solutions for core banking replacement initiatives, positioning the Vault product suite as the central component.
• Create and utilise AI agents to accelerate architectural deliverables and enable clients to benefit from reusable assets.
• Maintain an advanced understanding of the Vault platform, its roadmap, and non‑functional requirements.
• Act as an independent consultant, often engaging directly with clients without continuous team support.

Required profile

• Deep knowledge of the Vault product suite and its future direction.
• Proven experience consulting with banks on core banking and payments transformations.
• Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to senior business and technical audiences.
• Self‑sufficient, capable of driving engagements with minimal supervision.
